Run! The word turns over and over in her head urging her to move. She doesn't. She can't. Within moments he's in front of her, smiling, the smile that belonged to her. Except it's different now, a little more wicked and a lot more evil. But it doesn't change anything, not really. It doesn't matter what he has done, she knows she can't fight him again. Not now. Maybe not ever. She doesn't have the heart. It belongs to him. It always has.
As he stares into her eyes a look of triumph crosses his face. He knows she won't leave him. She can't escape. She won't. Half forgotten words uttered long ago spring to his mind, To kill the girl, you have to love her. His fingers gently trace her lips before sliding up to cup her face in his hands. He's loved her for a long time.
