Voting and General Suggestions

still_grrrBefore I put the voting up for January tonight, I wanted to get an idea of how the community feels about some changes. Nothing major, just some tweeking.
First, I was thinking of having voting just run for two weeks. I just want to make sure that everyone feels like that is enough time to read all the longer stories and check out all the great fanart. Or if you think we need less time, or more than two weeks but less than a month. Second, I was thinking of putting up tie breakers after the voting closes and leaving those open for a week. That way we don't have two, three ties a piece for each place. I've got an easy clicky poll!

I'm also going to screen the comments here and leave it as a general suggestion post, if there is something you aren't digging, something you think needs to change, etc. Or you know, if there is something you really think is awesome and should never change, that works too. LOL

Date: 2010-02-06 05:00 pm (UTC)This is how voting works right now. Each first place vote get 3 pts, each second place vote gets 2 pts, and each third place vote gets 1 pt. So if your story has 3 votes for first, 0 for second, and 1 for third, your point total is 10.
In the case of a tie, the tie breaker votes count as first place votes. For example, let's say you and I tied for first both with 10 points and the next person got 8 points. In the tie breaker you got 4 votes, I got 2. You would now have 22 points and I would have 16. With the adjusted scores, you would get first, I would get second, and mystery person would get third.
If the run off was for second place, the mystery person would be bumped out of the race because you would get second, and I would get third.
