Rating: PG (for implied, future, potential violence)
Word Count: 436
Prompt 063: Free For All: Crossover
Characters/Pairing (if Any): Wesley Wyndham-Pryce (post Season One of Angel), Mimi Clark (pre-series, Jericho)
A/N: Slightly Spoilerific for Mimi in Season Two of Jericho, but only if you've seen it (I think)...

"Here is your cappuccino, sir...Sir?"

Wesley stood at the counter of the coffee shop, unmoving. He’d spotted a beautiful woman sitting at a table near him. She looked pensive, poring over the documents before her, a coffee cup neglected on the edge of the table.

"Sir!"

He was jolted back to the reality of the coffee shop worker standing before him. Blushing slightly, he took the cappuccino.

Stepping aside, he spotted a seat that was empty near the table at which the woman sat. Returning his gaze to her, he noticed that despite the informality of her surroundings, she was dressed in a crisp gray suit. But it was her eyes that most captivated him--

Distracted, he bumped harshly into her table.

"Watch it--oh, no--" The woman cried, and then groaned. Wesley looked down and saw her coffee cup laying on its side, coffee spilling out of it and turning the pristine white documents to variations of mocha.

"Oh! I’m sorry!" Wesley exclaimed. "Here, let me clean that up--"

He retrieved a few paper towels from a nearby table and started to sop up the mess of coffee he’d spilled. Taking a glance at the documents spread over the table, he couldn’t help noticing the words "Wolfram and Hart" and "Internal Revenue Service."

"The IRS is investigating Wolfram and Hart?" He muttered.

"Since you already saw...yes." The woman responded.

"I am very sorry about this," Wesley replied, gesturing to the table. "Wesley Wyndham-Pryce. Can I get you another cup of coffee?"

"Mimi Clark, and no. I should get going." She scooped up the papers in front of her, frowning as she did so.

"You won’t get anything on them," Wesley ventured.

"Excuse me?"

"Wolfram and Hart." Wesley explained.

"If they have something to find, I’ll find it," Mimi said determinedly.

Just then, Wesley’s beeper sounded. "It turns out that I have to get going myself." He paused. "Be careful with them. They have ways of eliminating problems that--"

"I can take care of myself, thank you," Mimi responded curtly. Sensing that she didn’t want his help any longer, Wesley gave her a slight nod and left the coffee shop.

~~~
Mimi glanced at the wet papers clutched in her hand. She had no idea what that man was talking about, or why he felt he had authority to say such things, but it still gave her pause. After a moment, she dismissed the thoughts, shaking her head. She highly doubted that Wolfram and Hart’s methods of "cleaning their messes" could leave her life in danger. What could they hide that would be worth that?
