Giles has reached his half century. It seems like forever, and no time at all. Time dilates and shrinks without reason in retrospect. He was never young enough to be a toddler, but he's now no more than a few years past his teens. Surely?
He wonders what it's like to live eternally. Angel's last hundred years clearly weighed heavy, but Anya wears her eleven hundred as lightly as though they were seconds. If he could live for centuries, would he?
For Buffy, who had barely one fifth of a century, it must have passed like quicksilver. Impossible to hold.
